A curious start
My journey into technology began early, fueled by an encyclopedia on automation and aerospace that fascinated me as a child. By the time I was 12, I was diving into monthly magazines like PC Max and PC Jeux, exploring the ins and outs of computers—installing drivers, setting up my dad's medical software, and, of course, playing games. At 15, I took my first steps into programming with C, and that spark of curiosity shaped my post secondary education and professional career.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Al Akhawayn University, Ifrane, Morocco
I embarked on my first Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in one of Morocco’s most beautiful cities—a place that offered more than just an education. It was a fantastic journey where I built lifelong friendships that not only shaped my career direction but also helped me blend my love for technology with my passions for music and art.
Diploma in Audio Engineering & Production
Pacific Audio Visual Institute, Vancouver, BC
One of the best periods of my life. I still remember the excitement I felt on my way to school each day. I went from sitting in serious software engineering and mathematics classes with the most uptight professors to hanging out with the coolest professors, drummers, and key players in Vancouver’s indie scene. I spent countless hours at Blue Wave Studios, diving deep into analogue consoles, recording local bands and classmates, and experimenting with tape machines, vintage compressors, and classic plate and spring reverbs—among so many other fun toys. And when I wasn’t in the studio, I was out at shows, soaking in the music scene several times a week.
Intern / Audio Engineer assistant
FaderMaster Studios, Vancouver, BC
That same year, I joined FaderMaster Studios as an intern and assistant, working alongside some of Vancouver’s top audio engineers. One of my most memorable moments was recording and mixing my first band, and collaborating with fellow graduates on several albums and EPs, each project teaching me something new. This phase was a major learning experience on many levels—not just in audio, but also in film. I landed my first filming gigs around the city, working with talented reporters and getting a real taste of life behind the lens.
Diploma in Film & Digital Arts
Pacific Audio Visual Institute, Vancouver, BC
At the same school, I delved into film production and history, and soon found myself jamming with music videos. I loved the creative process, but I struggled with sitting for too long and editing—something I initially blamed on slow computer rendering times. Years later, I realized my ADHD played a big role in that challenge. Still, I enjoyed every moment of making music videos, taking on roles as Director of Photography, and participating in small film festivals, both behind the camera and as an eager viewer at VIFF.
Customer Representative, Sales
Canadian Tire, Vancouver, BC
In May 2012, in parallel with my small creative gigs and internship, I got a job as sales representative and floor staff at Canadian Tire, diving headfirst into the fast-paced, often harsh world of North American post-consumerism culture. It was an eye-opening experience that gave me a firsthand look at the realities of retail—dealing with customer demands, navigating endless product knowledge, and understanding the mechanics of a large-scale operation.

Bachelor in Fine Arts
Emily Carr University of Art & Design, Vancouver, BC
Pursuing my second Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Emily Carr University was an experience I cherished every second of. Much like my time in audio engineering and film, I never once felt the dreaded Sunday Scaries—every week was something to look forward to. This period was filled with inspiring people, creativity, and growth. Looking back, it was also when I met the love of my life and partner—though we had no idea at the time.
A Cross-Country Adventure
Canada
Towards the end of my first year at university, I had an incredible opportunity: a 7-week cross-country tour with a couple of jazz and acoustic bands! We traveled all the way from Vancouver to Halifax and back, capturing the journey through photography and video. It was an unforgettable road trip filled with camping under the stars, breathtaking Canadian landscapes, and countless unforgettable moments.
A shift in perspective
Realist Academy of Art, Toronto, ON
At the end of my third year, I needed to pick up some needed skills and a different artistic perspective. So, I packed my bags and headed to Toronto for the summer semester to study at the Academy of Realist Art. The Academy's focus on French Academy realism – with its emphasis on meticulous drawing and painting techniques – presented a fascinating new challenge. It was a world of discipline and observation, a stark contrast to the more abstract and conceptual approaches I was used to. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time at the Academy. The rigorous training, while demanding, was incredibly rewarding. I learned valuable new skills, gained a deeper appreciation for the art of observation.
